The best ideas are often half accidents. In this blog, my goal is to show a tutorial in a month. It is not always clear where ideas come from. They may come when I have a moment to myself walking outdoors, driving car or reading a book that fails to catch my attention. Sometimes I see a tutorial or just a picture in a magazine or on internet and I find myself thinking how to make my kind of version of the piece.
This time there is a story to tell of how this idea came to life. It all started when I saw a picture of single helix pattern on Facebook and I found a video tutorial to the pattern. This time I followed instructions to the letter, but the result wasn’t as great as it was in the tutorial. Maybe I didn’t tighten the work often enough or maybe it’s just gravity doing its tricks, who knows. Some beads fell to one side instead of making a vine-like pattern. Anyway, my designing mind had an idea: “What if I made all the beads to fall on one side on purpose?” I decided to use a modified right angle weave. RAW is one of my favorite techniques for its versatility and simplicity.
In future blog entry I’ll show you the instructions but this time, enjoy the story.
Edit: Link to instructions.
